The Greeneway project is the redevelopment of four vacant parcels, including the former Dairyland Greyhound Park just off I-94 in Kenosha. Greenfire completed the initial excavation and infrastructure within the 240-acre development. Project scope also included the construction of new access roads, with over a mile of new roads and 7,000 cubic yards of concrete were poured. Greenfire’s efforts prepared the site to be pad-ready for new construction of multi-phased development projects. Excavation and sitework efforts created an additional 55.5 acres of new area ready for development. 3.36 miles of new water, sewer and storm utilities were installed across the development.
The next phases of development could include multi-family residential, 1.6 million SF of mixed use commercial and industrial space, and over 60 acres of preserved wetlands and nature preserve. The FCPC purchased the Greeneway property in 2017 as part of its commitment to invest in and support growth throughout southeastern Wisconsin. The groundbreaking took place following a blessing of the property by Tribal elders and representatives and included local business and political leaders.
We are breaking ground on land the Potawatomi called home for hundreds of years, improving our current footprint in southeastern Wisconsin through substantial investment, while also honoring our past. This is the next step in fulfilling our ongoing and long-term commitment to Kenosha.
