The Forest County Potawatomi Community Health & Wellness Center renovation in Crandon, Wisconsin supported ongoing clinical operations while expanding access, privacy, and patient flow. The project focused on modernizing public-facing spaces and improving site circulation to better serve patients, staff, and visitors. Work was planned and executed within an active healthcare environment, requiring careful coordination with clinic leadership to maintain uninterrupted services throughout construction.

Greenfire served as construction manager at risk, leading preconstruction and construction services with an emphasis on budget control, phasing, and operational continuity. The team worked closely with the Clinic Operations staff to sequence work, implement temporary conditions, and protect patient privacy in compliance with HIPAA requirements. Through early coordination, open-book estimating, and scope reconciliation, Greenfire identified opportunities to add scope without increasing the overall project budget, resulting in nearly $1 million in savings. Renovated areas were returned to service with no visible impact from construction, allowing clinical functions to resume without disruption.

The project included a 3,393 SF addition and 7,350 SF of interior alterations, totaling over 10,000 SF of renovated and expanded space. Scope included an expanded lobby and waiting area, a reconfigured registration area to improve privacy, a new clinic entry and patient drop-off with an enlarged canopy, and renovation of the existing retail pharmacy with the addition of a vehicle drive-thru. Interior work included renovations to existing exam rooms and support spaces, while exterior scope addressed extensive sitework, new parking configurations, circulation improvements, and landscaping. Design and engineering partners included Plunkett Raysich Architects, JSD, and Pierce Engineers.

The completed renovation positions the Health & Wellness Center to support current needs and future growth. Improved access, upgraded patient spaces, and efficient site circulation enhance daily operations while maintaining flexibility for future clinical updates.
