The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Residences at Woodale Crossing achieved LEED® Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, adding another milestone to a project that expanded affordable and supportive housing in Brown Deer. Developed by Jewish Family Services, the 58,500 SF community provides 56 apartment homes for seniors and individuals with disabilities, including units reserved for residents at risk of homelessness.
Greenfire served as Construction Manager, working alongside JLA Architects, The Sigma Group, REYN Engineering, and a broad team of funding partners throughout planning and construction. Built immediately adjacent to the occupied Deerwood Crossing Senior Residences, the project required detailed construction sequencing, neighborhood coordination, and ongoing communication to maintain safety while limiting disruption to residents and the surrounding community.
LEED Gold certification is awarded to buildings that meet high standards for energy efficiency, environmental performance, indoor air quality, and long-term sustainability. Woodale Crossing earned the designation through features including solar panels, enhanced insulation, energy-efficient building systems, landscaped stormwater management, and durable mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. These improvements reduce energy consumption, lower utility costs, and support long-term building performance.
The development was planned to provide the quality and amenities of market-rate housing while supporting residents’ independence. Studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments include in-unit laundry, private balconies, and modern finishes. Residents also have access to underground parking, a fitness room, community gathering spaces, outdoor patios, and on-site supportive services.
Woodale Crossing adds sustainable, long-term housing to the Brown Deer community while supporting the mission of Jewish Family Services. Greenfire’s role included preconstruction planning, construction management, site logistics, schedule coordination, quality control, and collaboration with project partners from early planning through project completion.
