A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the River Trails School in Milwaukee to commemorate the new Sustainable Production Forest on the school’s property. The project converted the former barren parcel into a series of berms and drainage swales that collect storm water runoff to support more than 100 trees and shrubs that will be planted on site. Students participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony and planted several trees.
The Forest will serve as a hands-on educational experience for the students in the agricultural program who will plant, maintain, and harvest the crops through the eventual marketing and sale of the products.
Greenfire is proud to serve as the construction manager on this experiential and purposeful project for the River Trails School and Milwaukee Public Schools. We would like to thank Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, Corvias, and Black & Veatch for selecting Greenfire as their trusted construction partner. The project team includes John Fleischman, Jeff Stanisch and Paul Hackbarth.
