Multi-phased renovation to accommodate a charter elementary school. Includes renovations to all four floors consisting of classrooms, kitchen and cafeteria, art room and gymnasium. As part of the Wgema Campus redevelopment, Woodlands East School is a multi-phased renovation of the formerly vacant Indian Community School to accommodate an additional location for the UW-Milwaukee charter elementary school. Exterior renovations include refurbishment of the building’s facade and site upgrades consisting of fresh landscaping, a new playground and paved drop-off zone. The project required a high degree of site supervision to carefully coordinate construction activity within an operational building to avoid disruption to residing tenants and ensure a safety within an active school zone. This multi-phased project required detailed knowledge to ensure budget and timeline were met.
