The Common Place - Ashwaubenon, WI

The Common Place is a mixed-use development by Merge Urban Development and designed by Slingshot Architecture. This development was constructed in the Village of Ashwaubenon, just a few blocks from Lambeau Field. Given its centralized location, The Common Place caters to residents who seek out a recreational lifestyle in a walkable community. Located on a former industrial site, The Common Place is just a short walk to a growing presence of breweries, live music venues, the Resch Center, in addition to Lambeau Field. One of The Common Place’s most unique features is Odyssey Climbing + Fitness, an 8,125 SF indoor climbing gym with a 45′ top rope climbing wall. All first-time residents received a one-year membership to the climbing gym.

Being in such a unique development area, The Common Place provided its own set of unique challenges during construction. With such close proximity to Lambeau Field, Greenfire’s project team worked closely with the Village of Ashwaubenon and The Green Bay Packers to coordinate logistics in and around the construction site during gamedays. The project team also worked directly with Walltopia, the climbing wall manufacturer based in Bulgaria, to produce, ship and install all the climbing walls. Team Greenfire navigated post-COVID challenges with supply chain issues as well.

The five-story complex has four stick framed levels on a precast concrete podium, housing the residential lobby, common areas and two retail spaces. The exterior of the building consists of an array of materials including red brick, metal panels, powdered coated steel elements with geometric accents and a full height glass curtainwall at the northeast corner showcasing the climbing gym. Glass storefronts line the western elevation for the retail areas, and the development hosts a beautiful courtyard as well.

All units feature modern design cues, including quartz countertops. Each unit is equipped with an in-unit washer and dryer as well.

The Common Place offers Green Bay living at its finest, right in the heart of a thriving and expanding entertainment district.
