Project Spotlight: Prairie’s Edge Commercial B

August 1, 2026

Prairie’s Edge Commercial Building B has achieved occupancy, adding another completed commercial building to the growing mixed-use development in Port Washington. Greenfire managed construction of the 7,500 SF building for developer Black Cap Halcyon, creating new space for a future fitness center and physical therapy provider along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

Located at the corner of Wisconsin Street and Prairie’s Edge Way, the building includes a 5,700 SF fitness center space and an 1,800 SF physical therapy suite. While the future tenants are preparing their spaces, the building is complete and ready for occupancy.

Commercial Building B follows Greenfire’s previous work at Prairie’s Edge, including the core and shell construction of Commercial Building C and tenant buildouts for Lakeside Alliance Church and Portside Investment Advisors. Carrying that experience into the next phase helped maintain continuity throughout the development while coordinating closely with Black Cap Halcyon, The Kubala Washatko Architects, Pierce Engineers, and the future tenants.

Constructed with a steel frame and high-performance exterior materials suited for the Lake Michigan waterfront, the building includes a nearly 40-foot open gym, expansive window walls, a yoga studio, locker rooms, lounge, indoor-outdoor training bay, and dedicated physical therapy treatment rooms. Greenfire managed site preparation, concrete foundations, structural framing, building enclosure, and tenant coordination through occupancy.

Prairie’s Edge is a master-planned development that combines residential, commercial, and public spaces along more than 2,000 linear feet of Lake Michigan shoreline. Commercial Building B expands the services planned for the development while building on Greenfire’s ongoing partnership with Black Cap Halcyon and experience delivering commercial construction projects throughout Wisconsin.
