Progress remains steady at the Axis Apartments, a new multi-family development at 92nd and Greenfield in West Allis. Developed by F Street, the project replaces the former St. Aloysius Church site with new housing through a two-phase plan. Phase 1 introduces 42 garden-style units, while Phase 2 adds a 105-unit midrise building along Greenfield Avenue. The development is designed to transition from lower-density buildings to higher-density housing along the corridor, supporting infill growth in a developing area.
Greenfire joined the project during preconstruction, working with F Street and design partners to align design, cost, and schedule. This early involvement established a clear path for procurement, permitting, and phased construction. The team continues to coordinate with project architect RINKA+ and trade partners, managing long-lead materials and sequencing work across both phases to maintain progress.
Current work is focused on site preparation, grading, and underground infrastructure. Crews are advancing footings, foundation walls, and below-grade mechanical systems, followed by slab-on-grade placement and framing activities. Coordination efforts include utility connections, building pads, and delivery of structural components to support vertical construction. This phased approach allows work to move forward across multiple areas of the site while maintaining alignment with the overall schedule.
The full scope includes sitework, utilities, structural systems, building enclosures, MEPFP systems, and interior build-outs. Units will include a mix of layouts, with garden-style residences offering private entries and the midrise building providing underground parking and shared spaces.
As construction continues through 2026 and 2027, Greenfire will focus on maintaining coordination across trades, managing sequencing between phases, and supporting F Street’s goals for delivery and occupancy.
