Greenfire Projects Welcome Doors Open Milwaukee

September 27, 2026

Greenfire was a sponsor of Doors Open Milwaukee, an annual event organized by Historic Milwaukee, Inc., a nonprofit that builds awareness of Milwaukee’s history and architecture through education, tours and community events. Doors Open invites the public to explore buildings, cultural sites and neighborhoods, including places not usually open for tours.

Several Doors Open Milwaukee hosts are projects Greenfire managed: Davidson Park, Concordia 27, Adventure Rock WKP, Nō Studios and Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, which Greenfire managed interior renovations. Visitors also experienced America’s Black Holocaust Museum, located in The Griot Apartments. Greenfire managed construction of The Griot and Historic Garfield, a historic and new-build mixed-use development that includes the museum.

At Davidson Park, Greenfire collaborated with the Forest County Potawatomi Community on the Serenity Garden as part of a 4.8-acre community space project. The broader scope includes The Hub amphitheater, walking paths, native landscaping and stormwater systems. Concordia 27 transformed a vacant historic building into a community hub with nonprofit offices, training and food preparation space, a café and wellness services. At Adventure Rock WKP, Greenfire converted a warehouse into a climbing gym with fitness and yoga spaces.

Greenfire provides construction management, preconstruction planning and coordination for projects with varied uses, site conditions and community needs. For historic renovation and adaptive reuse, early review helps identify constraints, coordinate design and construction, and guide decisions about how buildings can serve new purposes. Open-book communication keeps owners and project partners informed as plans move forward.

Doors Open Milwaukee gives visitors access to these places and their stories. Greenfire sponsored the event in support of Historic Milwaukee’s work connecting people with the city’s architecture, history and neighborhoods.
