Greenfire attends FCPC Trades Fair

January 14, 2025

Tucked away in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, is a gathering place for the Forest County Potawatomi Community (FCPC). The FCPC Community Center is a spectacular building that is beyond a fitness center. In fact, in January it was used for a construction trades fair to engage local high school students and recent graduates in learning more about the construction industry and potential employment opportunities. The gym of the community center was transformed into a career fair. Businesses including plumbers, electricians, engineers and construction managers lined the perimeter with tables displaying their company information and job opportunities.

Greenfire attended this trades fair as the FCPC tribally-owned construction management firm. Bob Boelter represented the firm and explained to students the many paths for entry into the construction industry including apprenticeships, technical programs, or four-year degree programs at colleges and universities. He also explained what a construction manager does throughout a project and what skills, training, and certifications that can help them build successful careers.

The FCPC Department of Education hosted the trades fair and invited several companies from the industry to attend. By actively participating in initiatives like the trades fair, Greenfire strengthens its role as a trusted resource for those interested in construction careers that help build our communities.
