F Street has broken ground on The Axis Apartments, a new residential development planned for the corner of 92nd and Greenfield in West Allis. Greenfire will manage construction of the project, continuing our work with F Street on multi-family developments across the region, like Village 43 in Brown Deer.
The Axis Apartments will introduce 147 units through a two-phase plan designed by RINKA+ with civil engineering by Pinnacle Engineering Group. Phase 1 will deliver 42 garden-style units. Phase 2 will add a 105-unit midrise building along Greenfield Avenue. The combined approach uses lower-density buildings to transition into the surrounding neighborhood while placing higher-density housing along the corridor. The project replaces the underutilized St. Aloysius Church site, creating new housing options while making full use of infill land in a growing area of West Allis.
Greenfire’s early involvement has supported F Street’s planning efforts, aligning design, cost, and schedule through preconstruction. Our team will continue to manage coordination with design partners and trade contractors, guide procurement for long-lead materials, and sequence sitework and construction activities across both phases. This includes managing infrastructure work, precast and framing packages, utilities, building enclosures, MEPFP systems, and interior build-outs from start to completion.
The development includes a mix of junior one-, one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts. Garden-style units feature private entrances and direct access to outdoor space. The midrise building will offer underground parking, balconies, and shared community areas. Planned amenities include in-unit washers and dryers, stainless steel appliances, attached garages, a fitness center, a dog spa and run, an entertainment room, and a rooftop deck.
With work now underway, site preparation and grading will lead construction efforts, followed by phased building activity through 2026 and 2027. As the project progresses, Greenfire will focus on delivering a coordinated approach that supports F Street’s goals and keeps the development moving toward full occupancy.
