The following is written by Kenedy Van Zile
In June 2025, I embarked on my summer internship with Greenfire after completing a previous internship at Potawatomi Ventures. I was excited to concentrate on in-house marketing for a single brand, which allowed me to enhance my marketing skills while expanding my professional network.
During my four months, I participated in numerous campaigns, including social media initiatives and career development projects. My responsibilities included conceptualizing ideas and executing designs in collaboration with my team. I worked on various campaigns, such as National Holidays and intern spotlights, which helped me refine my creative abilities and boost my confidence in my work.
On the business development side, I focused on organizing and enhancing the CRM database, contributing to cleanup efforts to ensure my team could navigate the system with ease. Additionally, I conducted research projects for specific market sectors, compiling an extensive list of over 400 Senior Living facilities in Wisconsin.
One of the highlights of my internship was the opportunity to attend outings and conferences with my team. They welcomed me to participate and facilitated introductions, allowing me to connect with new people and broaden my network. This experience ultimately led to securing my first full-time position. The events helped me develop new networking skills and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone.
Throughout my internship with Greenfire, I have strengthened skills and tools that will benefit me in my future endeavors. I am grateful to Greenfire for their support and for helping me become a better version of myself while laying a strong foundation.
