Greenfire recently completed its annual Back-to-School Drive in support of the First Nations Studies program at Milwaukee Public Schools. 2026 marks the 10th year Greenfire has held the drive for First Nations Studies.
First Nations Studies provides academic and cultural programming for more than 1,200 K-12 students throughout the MPS district. The program helps students build their knowledge of American Indian history, culture, sovereignty and contemporary life while providing support and resources for Native students and their families.
Greenfire employees, Potawatomi Ventures team members and other supporters contributed $3,100 in monetary donations and school supplies through the drive. The collection also included 20 backpacks and laptop bags and five boxes of classroom materials. Greenfire presented the donations to First Nations Studies for distribution to students and classrooms across the district.
The funds and supplies will help students begin the school year with materials needed for classroom instruction, assignments and other educational activities. Contributions also support the First Nations Studies team as it serves students and teachers throughout Milwaukee Public Schools.
The back-to-school drive is one part of Greenfire’s work with First Nations Studies. Over the past decade, Greenfire team members have participated in classroom visits, student roundtables, mock interviews and career exploration activities. These programs give students opportunities to learn about careers in construction, marketing, business development and other professional fields while practicing communication and interviewing skills.
As a company owned by the Forest County Potawatomi Community, Greenfire values opportunities to support Native students and connect them with education and career resources. The continued partnership with First Nations Studies provides a direct way for employees to share their time, experience and support.
